Happy B-day, Bob

Today is Bob Dylan's 64th birthday, that mythical rock 'n' roll milestone that always has seemed impossibly old to anyone who contemplated Paul McCartney's young man's query to a lover about still loving him way off in that distant future. Would anyone sitting with a fresh vinyl copy of Bringing it All Back Home or Highway 61 Revisited (both issued in 1965) have been willing to bet that Dylan would still be a vital artist 40 years later? The same could not be said for fellow contemporaneous icons like the aforementioned McCartney... Brian Wilson perhaps comes closest at this point, and his recent climb toward relevance is almost exclusively predicated on recreating glories from that dusty decade.
